Talent showcases were held for the tribute artists and the look-alikes along with the award presentations. The top three performances were selected to open the Country Superstars Show at the Golden Nugget on February 21st. One of the winners was Dave La Fame, as Tom Jones. Malik Pointer is a mega talented singer songwriter that is taking Las Vegas by storm. Malik appeared at the Book and Stage lounge in the Cosmopolitan Hotel last week end. The crowd was on their feet, singing and dancing along with Malik as he climbed on and off the stage to be with them.

The backs up singers, Nandi & Shegun Pointer are the children of Malik’s uncle Fritz Pointer and they also have the Pointer talent. It is good to see and watch the talents of a family as they perform and entertain the people with such joy.

I don’t know where Malik gets all his energy, but he was non stop in his excellent and exciting performance, that kept the people dancing, with his band Macdracula, to his music for two hours

They say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, but in this case I would say the “Diamond doesn’t fall far from the tree” because that is what Malik is, a brilliant, beautiful Diamond who shines bright in the spot light.

Malik’s mother is Ruth Pointer and his Aunt is Anita Pointer. They joined him recently to sing a new version of the Pointer Sisters hit, “I’m So Excited”. It is an exciting new version of the song that they have recorded and it’s on the way to be a big hit.

This new generation of Pointers has the total support of the family and they can see how they have influenced their music. Malik’s music career is being managed by Avarie Shevin who has been instrumental in his music world success.

I had the opportunity to interview Malik after the show and he shared that he owes everything he knows to the Pointer Women because he wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for them. He said all this seeped into him subconsciously as he sat through hours of rehersals, while wanting to go to Disneyland. Malik started singing and dancing at age five in talent shows and making up shows and doing the choreography.

Malik wants everyone to have a good time and be entertained an he knows that is what they came for and he builds on that. Look for Malik to be appearing soon on the Las Vegas Strip.

If you produce it, they will come said Mistinguett who created the “Showgirl Follies, Life in Feathers and Rhinestones”. Mistinguett is the Producer, Director & Choreographer of the show that features beautiful dancers and costumes.The costumes had been stored away in bins for over 40 years old, now refurbished and still stunning.

The showgirls showcased their Old Las Vegas style of dancing along with some very talented showmen.

Delia Sheppard was a principal dancer in “Splash” at the Riviera Hotel and was outstanding in the show with her beauty and her costumes.

Another Showgirl has quite a resume from beauty queen to lead singer in many Las Vegas shows. Gabriella Versace was outstanding in the show with her great style of song and dance. Gabriella is currently the lead singer in the band “Nitro”

The showroom was packed with a sold out performance and the audience not only enjoyed watching the beauties, they were also entertained by Fielding West.

Fielding was the MC and he added his comedy and his magical skills to the delight of everyone.

Mark Francis was a welcomed hit with his powerful voice and added eye candy along with the showgirls.

Sheldon Craig won the hearts of the audience as he sang and danced and fit the part of a classy Dapper Dan.

Fish Circus

Fish Circus is an outlandish band that features Penny Pibbets, who is the star performer at the Absinthe show at Caesars Palace. I first saw Penny in the Absinthe and I was looking forward to see her perform with her band “Fish Circus” at the Bikini Bar in Las Vegas. I had seen the show Absinthe a few times and after seeing Penny Pibbets in the show, I knew that her performance in Fish Circus would be fabulous.

The night started out at 10:00 pm as I watched Penny being transformed as her make up was being masterly applied by artist Robin Slonina. Robin opened up her downtown shop in 2006 and she has a crew of painters and makeup artists that create the living art. Other members of the hit show Absinthe were hanging around the Bikini Bar and created their own show with the customers. Angel Porrino played a mean game of pool and attracted quite a crowd as she does in the Absinthe show where she does a routine in a bubble balloon. Angel is also featured in “The Peep Show” with Holly Madison.

Also on hand was trapeze artists Genevieve and Max.

Max and his partner Garret were outrageously dressed to the hilt with dramatic makeup and great wigs. They looked right at home as they mixed in with the crowd.

The show reminded me of a traveling gypsy carnival with an anything goes format. One of their props is a wheel marked with various things to do and the spinner determines what happens when the wheel stops at that spot. This fully engages the wild crowd. We anxiously awaited someone to spin and have it land on the spot to strip. It did and John Michael, the trombone player happily stripped down to his lady bikini.

The band played their own thing and Penny sang and danced wildly across the stage and somehow it all magical came together creating a wild madness in the crowd. It was intriguing and so very entertaining. Penny was a non stop ball of energy.

At one point a few of the women in the crowd went on stage to dance with the band. If the stage was big enough I think that half of the room would have jumped on the stage too. The show was over two hours and shortly after midnight I left being fully entertained and knowing that I would go back again to see the Fish Circus and Penny Pibbets.

Promoter Maggie Leon brought the Fish Circus back to the Bikini Bar, by popular demand and they received a huge welcome from everyone.

Ice has been a Michael Jackson tribute artist for over 10 years and it is astonishing to see how he has mastered the application of his make up to look like Michael Jackson. His body moves are perfect and so is his singing. From the moment Ice gets on stage you think you are watching Michael Jackson as he moves effortlessly across the stage.

Words that describe Ice are perfect and a great entertainer. After watching Ice perform, Catherine Jackson, mother of Michael said “You look like my baby”. That is a great compliment coming from her. Charlie Franks has been billed as the ultimate Elvis and he really is the best, great tribute artist to Elvis. Tall, dark and absolutely handsome Charlie captures the audience’s heart the moment he starts singing and playing his guitar. His beautiful smile melts the hearts of the women in the audience as he puts a scarf around their necks and kisses them on the cheek. At times he will sit on their laps, but not before he shakes the hands of their spouses to make sure it is okay with them. At that point it doesn’t matter because he can sit on their laps or for that matter, on my lap anytime.

It was another exciting four days at the Adult Entertainment Expo that was held on January 18-21, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas NV. It was a chance to see all the latest developments, exhibitors and many new vendors. The new vendors were there to develop relationships with the industry professionals and network with people from all over the world. I interviewed two beautiful porn stars from Wicked Pictures, Stormy Daniels and Alektra Blue.

Stormy Daniels started as a stripper and a dancer but wanted to make more money so a friend asked her to go to LA to shoot a movie for five days. Her friend left after the shoot and Stormy stayed and 10 years later and she is still there. Stormy was 22 when she starred in a feature film for Wicked called “Heat”. In 2004 she won “Best New Starlet” from Adult Video News and since then has directed over 40 Adult movies and starred in over 130 films. Stormy acts and directs 90% of her own movies. She said that directing can be a challenge but that goes good with her control freak nature.

A spur of the moment decision started her entry into the porn film business. A friend called Alektra and told her she was made for the business and flew her out to L.A. to try it out. On January 20, 2012 the Gigolo’s hosted a Bachelorette Party at Sapphires Gentlemen’s Club in the Ladies Only Showroom. It was a night to remember with all the hard bodies of the Men of Sapphire who put on a fabulous show.

The Gigolo’s is a new Showtime hit Series about the high end male escorts in Las Vegas who will fulfill the ultimate sexual fantasies of women. The series follows the five men on their dates. Garren James is the agent for the Gigolo’s and his escort service is called “Cowboys 4 Angels”. Everyone loves cowboys and everyone that night loved the hot, sexy men and the women shamelessly hugged and kissed them. One lady actually jumped on Steven and wrapped her legs around him.

Steven Gantt is tall, dark and handsome and knows how to charm the women. The gleam in his eye and his beautiful smile melts a woman’s heart immediately. He is a hands on person and he knows how to touch and hold a woman. Steven has a way about him that makes women feel comfortable and at ease with him. He is a true romantic. What I love about Steven the most is that he is a dedicated father and has a heart of gold. He reminds me of Rock Hudson who was every woman’s fantasy. I consider Steven my friend for life.

Brace is so handsome and when you look into his beautiful blue eyes, your heart melts. I thought he looked great on T.V. but he is gorgeous in real life. At six feet tall, he has a great body thanks to the years of body building. Brace is known by his Brace Philosophy and we look forward to his own words of wisdom. He reminds me of a Greek God with his bronzed, sculpted body and blonde hair. Brace now calls Las Vegas home so be on the look out to see him around town. The Gigolo’s have filled their shows at Town Square, The Peppermill, The Artisan, Piero’s and Nora’s Wine bar. I am personally going to invite him out to local events to meet all the ladies.

Vin Armani has such a great personality and he is full of life, easy going and fun to be around. He is exactly the way he is shown on T.V. He looks for the positive and funny side of life and immediately puts a woman at ease. He is easy going and will do anything to please you, which is rare in a man. Vin looked like he had the most fun of the evening and the women simply adored him. His girlfriend Leilani was there with him and they looked like the perfect couple.

Now onto the fabulous Men of Sapphire who entertain and give private lap dances to the eager bachelorettes. The Two Kings of Pop and Rock are perfect in their tributes to Michael and Elvis and it is a magical night filled with songs and dance.

Chris Gardner studied Michael Jackson since he was a young boy, watching him on T.V. and he has perfected his moves. This comes natural to Chris because he comes from a musical background with his mother being a dancer and his father a singer. Not only did Chris perfect the dance routines, he also perfected the make up and body moves to a Tee.

All this practice paid off because when he entered a talent contest in High School as Michael Jackson, the crowd went wild and he loved the spot light.

Chris has traveled all over the world performing as Michael and has just recently returned to Las Vegas after a year long tour in Japan. I personally think that he is the best MJ impersonator in the world.

Now let’s add Steve Connolly as Elvis on stage and the room is electrifying with the 2 Kings. Steve is one of the top Elvis Tribute Artist in the world. Bethany Owen is known as the Woman of 1001 Voices and Faces and holds the world title of “Best Female Voice Impressionist”. She has the ability to mimic the human voice. She has over 50 famous female superstars that she includes in her one-woman stage show.

Bethany combines her music, comedy in her impressions of Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Tina Turner, Liza and Judy Garland, to name a few. She has perfected the looks of the character with spot on body language and facial expressions.

The Kings Room will also be home to the one woman show of Bethany Owen starting on January 27, 2012 from 2:30 to 3:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday. It will be an exciting opening for Bethany’s show because we badly need a female impressionist who can do it all.

On January 5, 2012 at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, the media and distinguished guests were in attendance in the Vegas Magic Theatre to see a night of magic. Paul Stone has put together a cast of magicians, illusionists and specialty acts for a 70 minute showcase. Ben Stone, son of Paul Stone, hosted the show and performed his magic skills and his singing abilities. Ben has a powerful voice to go along with his heart throb image and his charming ways. Take a back seat ladies because according to Jasmin Trias, they have been dating for a couple of years now.

It was a wonderful surprise to see Jasmin Trias perform on the stage because I thought we were only going to see a magic show that night. I am a fan of the reality show “American Idol” and I still can remember the fresh, young, beautiful Jasmin when she was in Season three in 2004, at a young age of 16. She finished in third place and won the hearts of America, and also the hearts of the audience on Thursday night at the Magic Theater. Since then she has toured the world, released two albums in the U.S. and Asia and is currently working on her third album. Jasmin is singing with “The Society of Seven” and their next appearance will be at the Sun coast on January 20-21, 2012.

Mixing magic and comedy is a plus and that is what Michael Goudeau does as he rides his unicycle on stage. We were sitting on the edge of our seats as Michael skillfully balanced himself and managed to stay on his cycle which created lots of laughter.

Astounding the audience was Murray Sawchuck who was featured on “Americas Got Talent” and he received standing ovations from the judges, Howie Mandell, Sharon Osbourn and Piers Morgan. Murray didn’t disappoint us with his magic and his outstanding hair.

Adam Flowers, a street magician kept the magic going in the Magic Lounge before the show where it is close up and personal. There you can enjoy the sleight of hand artists as they perform their magic close up and even then you still don’t know how they do it. The question on everyone’s mind is “How did they do that”.

Natasha from Russia was also in the Magic Lounge reading Tarot cards before the show.

I had my cards read and Natasha said she was having a hard time reading my cards because I had it all together and nothing was standing out. I guess all my self help seminars and workshops have impacted my life, so I’m good.

I have a friend, Mickey Silver who has the fastest hands in the world and I keep asking him how he does the magic tricks and he won’t tell me. I shouldn’t feel bad though because I asked his wife Debbie if she knew and she said he won’t tell her either.

Another entertaining act was Mike Douglas who included the ever popular bird tricks.

It was exciting to see and talk with Siegfried and Lance Burton in the lounge. Siegfried has always been my favorite Magic Man and I can still picture him strutting on the Mirage stage with all his power, grace and power, along with his partner Roy. I miss that show.

If you want to spend an afternoon feeling good and feeling happy, then head out to the Royal House in Las Vegas to see the comedy of Brad Tassell. Brad headlines his show, called Comic Therapy that makes the audience feel good. It is very evident of how much he loves his wife and daughter as he talks about family and about life. http://www.bradtassell.com/

As you enter the showroom you will see Brad Tassell mingling and talking with everyone, putting them at ease and making a connection with the audience before the show starts. He asks everyone to get a Thera-cookie and paint a picture on it with colored icings, which he later will analyze and interpret and tell them about themselves from the artistry.

I would pay attention to what Brad is saying because not only is he a gifted author and comedian, he is finishing up a Masters in Counseling and Gifted Education at Western Kentucky University. He brings all this knowledge into his show which is funny and enlightening at the same time. His singing and guitar playing is very good and he holds the audience’s attention the entire 60 minutes of the show.

Brad has been a stand up comedian for 23 years and eight of those years he was a favorite on the Carnival Cruise Lines. He said by working with Carnival all those years, he was able to be a stay at home dad which he loved and it made a big difference in his life with his family.

The 60s pop classics were alive and well at the Riviera Hotel Casino as Gary Lewis and The Playboys performed their hits that were on the top 20 list in the 60s. The Playboys auditioned at Disneyland and the entertainment director liked them and immediately hired them. He didn’t know Gary’s father was the famous Jerry Lewis, he just liked them and Gary and the Playboys played to a full house every night.

Gary had been singing, dancing and appearing in movies before he was 13 years old and in 1964 he formed the band The Playboys. Between 1965 and 1068 they had 10 songs on Billboards top 20 Hit Lists. Their first single This Diamond Ring went straight to number one and their second hit Count Me In went to number two. The Playboys had continued success with more hits such as Save Your Heart for Me, Everybody Loves a Clown, She’s Just My style and Sure Gonna Miss her. “Male Vocalist of the Year” was presented to Gary Lewis in 1965, winning over Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Rick performed a touching song that he wrote for his wife Joyce Chittick, while she was away performing in a New York Broadway show “Anything Goes”. It showed how much he missed her and loved her. It was a touching moment watching Rick and Joyce in the audience.

Joyce and Rick met while they were playing in the show “Jersey Boys”. I saw the show when it first opened at the Palazzo and I was thrilled with the production because I am an original “Jersey Girl” and grew up in the time frame of the Frankie Valli era. Rick was the original Frankie Valli and Joyce played the part of Frankie’s wife, Mary Delgado. They fell in love and got married last September in real life. Joyce will be joining “Body and Soul” in a few weeks and she will add her fabulous talent to the show. Brian Zack is the musical director of the show and he showed off his stuff to an enthusiastic audience.

Performing in front of a live audience is something that Rick loves and enjoys doing every night at the Las Vegas Hilton. Rick has been performing since he was 12 years old and he studied acting at B.F.A. New York University and landed leading roles in “Fosse” and Wonderful Town”. In July Rick Faugno won an award for “Best Performance” at the Orlando Film Festival for portrayal of Alexander Mann in the movie” Virgin Alexander”, that showed his talent as a singer, dancer and as an actor.

Jan Rouven is one of the world’s elite magicians, famous in Germany, and is friends with Siegfried Fischbacher. One of his death defying acts was the saw blades which was frightening and dangerous.

Another moment when we held our breaths was the releasing of swords by an audience member as she pulled on ropes, one by one; releasing the swords onto a table that Jan was lying on.

A fascinating stunt was Jan Rouven stepping into a water tank, chained underwater as the water rose in the tank. It was suspenseful and amazing when Jan appeared outside the tank and his assistant was in the water.

Jan performed astonishing feats of magic that were amazing. He is a handsome man, down to earth and so charming with his German accent. Jan took the time to meet with the fans at the end of the show by doing some more magic tricks in the lobby.

We started the evening off with a reception with the girls of the Fantasy show at the Luxor Hotel Casino in Las Vegas and were served a selection of drinks and delicious food.

Lorena Peril, who is the star of the Fantasy show welcomed the media and press and spent a lot of time talking to everyone. Lorena is a dynamic personality with a powerhouse voice and the star of Fantasy. http://www.fantasyluxor.com/

The show is a hot steamy adult topless review that has been on the strip for 12 years in the Atrium showroom at the Luxor. The show is done tastefully with the most gorgeous women in Las Vegas.

There is a whole lot of singing and dancing and audience participation and the scene with a wanna be Elvis was hilarious.

The high energy, steamy choreography was a hot treat and done tastefully for an open minded audience.

A highlight of the Fantasy show is Sean E Cooper who is one of the most talented entertainers on the strip. His singing, dancing and comedy is spectacular and one would wonder why he doesn’t have his own show. Sean fits perfectly with all the fantasy girls and everyone loves him. My favorite impression he does is the one of Tina Turner where he creates hysterical laughter from the audience.

Las Vegas filmmaker Derek Stonebarger launched the Vegas Independent Film Festival (VIFF) November 17-20, 2011 at the Century Theater at the Orleans and Theatre7, 1406 South 3rd St. Las Vegas NV. The festival screened documentaries, feature films, short films, music videos by independent filmmakers. The festival started by honoring Ted V. Mikels, an indie film legend, by having his hands immortalized in concrete. What I first noticed about Ted was his white handlebar moustache and a huge boars tooth hanging on a chain around his neck. At age 82, he is still making films, his latest one is “Astro Zombies: M4—Invaders from Cyberspace.” Ted has been making movies for 62 years and said he started filming when he was 12 years old. Jennifer wrote and starred in the movie that takes place in a motel in a small town in Texas. Brian White plays her husband who tried to kill her 5 years ago; he has just been released early from prison and has tracked her down to the motel. It is a thriller and a dark comedy that touches the soul. Wayne Newton who co-stars in the film wanted to be in the movie as soon as he read the script. We loved Wayne in the movie. Wayne Newton lives on a 40 acre estate called Casa de Shenandoa that features Arabian Horses and South African penguins. It will soon be opening as a tourist attraction in January or February.

Two world premiers closed the film festival on Nov. 20. The Adventures of Loop & Rhett, a western short, directed by Michael Su and Bubblegum & Broken Fingers, directed by Sean Jackson. All were amazing films and I was impressed by the movies that were selected for the film festival this year.

“Hollywood to Dollywood” is a documentary about twin brothers Gary and Larry Lane who have idolized Dolly Parton for years and they embarked on a 2200 mile road trip from Hollywood to Dollywood to meet Dolly. Gary and Larry wrote a feature film story for Dolly and wanted to hand her the script to read. They traveled in their RV named Jolene. What is great about this film is that they played 15 of Dolly’s hit songs. They finally did get to meet Dolly Parton and hand her their script. A Golden Bulb award was given to them for the Best Musical Video and for best Editing.

The evening concluded at the Piranha nightclub where a special performance by two Dolly Parton Impersonators put on a show for the Lane Twins. What a crowd, what a night.

There was a moment of laughter when a slide photo was shown on John Alexander’s day job with the “Men in Black”. John has been described as the only known example of a real Man in Black. The movie “Men Who Stare at Goats” was loosely based on John’s life and George Clooney played the character in the movie.

The knowledge and experience he shares is intriguing and I for one can sit and listen to John talk for hours. I am proud to say that I am a friend of John, and his wife Victoria Alexander is one of my best friends and we sealed our friendship bond when I traveled with John and Victoria to Ecuador to experience the ayahuasca plant ceremony. I remember sitting in the rain forest on a tree stump listening to John as he answered questions about the UFO phenomenon to the curious group we were traveling with.

I have always been fascinated with Area 51, which for many years the government said did not exist and then finally admitted to it. Strange that in the years they were denying its existence, we could go up on a hill and look down on Area 51. A few years ago I went to the road leading to Area 51 and the signs were disturbing.

A book signing took place after the lecture and there were a lot of happy smiley faces as everyone waited patiently for John to sign his book and speak to him personally.

John is sought out to speak world wide and at times people will even come to his house to talk to him. On one such occasion we saw former Minnesota Governor Jessie Ventura come to John’s house for an interview. Jessie Ventura is on a mission to examine conspiracy allegations and area 51 is one of them.

Absinthe is back on the Strip at Caesars Palace Roman Plaza in Las Vegas and once again playing to a packed tent. There is a new Spiegeltent that has all the best seats in the house and the front rows are so close to the performers that you can actually reach out and touch them.

I saw the show for the first time last March and I absolutely loved it and now seeing it for the second time, I was again in love with the acts, the Gazillionaire and my very favorite Penny Pibbets, played by Anais Thomassian. The skits are raunchy and wacky and a tremendous hit with the audience. The crowd was in an uproar as Penny and the Gazillionaire danced around the stage, it was the funniest part of the show.

The high wire act was a hold your breath moment as they balanced themselves and walked the high wire. It took a lot of concentration, balance and skill to perform their amazing act.

It was non stop entertainment as we watched men climb to great heights on chairs and unbelievable hands of strength balancing each other in their acrobatic acts. The girl in the balloon was charming as was the dancing girl with her dancing men.

Penny didn’t disappoint us as she did a skit with her sock hand puppets that was hysterically funny. I love Penny and I would go back again just to see her again in the show.

Everyone came back on the stage at the end of the show to thank everyone for coming and to take photos.

There were two celebrities in the house that night and I noticed that they really loved and enjoyed the show. Steven Gantt is the star of the TV Reality Show “Gigolos” and yes he is as charming and handsome in real life and we all love to be around him.

The Parisian Palace is owned by Nico Santucci and I had always admired the home for many years whenever I would drive by it. Being in real estate I longed to take a tour of this house so you can imagine how excited I was when I was invited to the Parisian Palace for the media night. Upon entering the property, I admired the beautiful grounds with the gorgeous statues and beautiful landscaping.

As I entered the house I was in awe of the beautiful gold staircase and the crystal chandelier hanging down from the original hand painted mural ceilings by painter Thomas Bisetti. Sitting in the middle of the entry hall was a motorcycle that Nico custom built. Adjacent to the nightclub was a bowling alley.

As I toured the house I saw that every room was more beautiful than the next and Nico had traveled all over the world collecting furniture, artifacts and stunning pieces of art to decorate his 21 room mansion. The Parisian Palace is modeled after a real 17th century Versailles Palace.

We ended up the evening by going to the nightclub where we were entertained by 3 comedians and then by Cabby F Yung Joc singing “Left Lane”

A fundraising rappelling event was hosted by the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas that benefited the Special Olympics Nevada. Special Olympics were looking to reach a $100,000 fundraising goal that would benefit over 4,000 Special Olympic athletes in Nevada. Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the founder of Special Olympics said “The days of separation and segregation are over. Special Olympians, you have taught us what truly matters is the courageous spirit, the generous heart”.

Everyone gathered on the 51st floor to either participate or watch the brave souls that were about to embark on the experience of their lives. The Edgers were there to scale down 400 feet and were being supervised by “Over the Edge” company from Nova Scotia.

I could see the nervousness of some of the participants as they slowly descended down the wall of the Rio. Some had smiles and some had the look of worry and concern.

I could very well feel what they were feeling because in the 80’s I too had rappelled down a mountain in a 10 day course that I did with the Werner Erhard’s “EST” training. It was one of the most exciting things that I had done at that time in my life. I then went on to be a part of the “Alivening” project that was founded by Glenn and Barbara Smyly. www.alivening.com

Their commitment and service to everyone made a tremendous difference in my life and I am who I am today because of them and the training.

It was a proud day for Lisa Tenner when she participated in rappelling for the Special Olympics. Lisa said she was honored to be the first person to rappel 51 stories down the Rio. These men are the sexiest men alive and I keep saying how much I love them and every chance I have, I go and see their show. I am always welcomed by my friend Michael Caprio and Kristen Makhatini. Kristen has the best job as the general manager of the Chippendales and she gets to be with them every day.

While we were doing the photo shoot I saw Steven Gantt, who was so handsome and gorgeous. When Michael Caprio introduced us to Steven I was so excited because I was looking to meet the Gigolos to do a feature story on them. I could never find a connection to them and now here was Steven. He is great in the show and I love his sweetness, his shyness and his gentleness. Season 2 of the Gigolos is now on SHO every Thursday at 11:00 pm. National spokesperson Eva Longoria and Master of Ceremonies George Lopez hosted its annual fundraising gala event at the Tropicana. Many celebrities walked the red carpet along with the children who appeared in their finest clothes and smiles. One young boy in particular, Dominic touched our hearts with his shy smile as he talked about his work as a landscape artist that he began over one year ago when he was six years old. He walked the carpet with Stefano Langone, an American Idol Finalist. Stefano is a charming, handsome young man.

Eva Longoria is so beautiful and charming and she spent a lot of time with the photographers and interviewers. Eva said she has been honored to be a part of the PADRE family for the last eight years and has watched it grow into a national organization. I am a fan of Eva’s from the Desperate Housewives and it was exciting to meet her and talk to her. I loved her character as Gabrielle Solis and now as Eva. George Lopez was a delight to talk to and I saw how much he cared about the children.

Assia Ahhatt is a beautiful talented violinist from the Ukraine who made her music debut at the Green Valley Ranch Hotel Casino on October 8, 2011 with Chris Botti. Chris Botti, a Grammy Award winning trumpet player invited Assia to be a guest violinist at his concert for her first appearance in the US.

Assia, a great musical and vocal talent has mastered the violin. She has been playing since she was five years old. At first she wasn’t a willing student and said that playing the violin was like work for her and many times did not want to practice. After all these years she is happy that she continued with her violin playing and she now entertains the world with her excellence and striking beauty. The Music Journalists Association of Ukraine gave the prestigious “Best Show” award to Assia and she has also won many international violin contests. Her songs in Russian, Polish and French have been released in an album in 2003 and this year will release a new CD.

After the concert Assia sat with me for a private interview and I asked her about her childhood and how she started playing the violin. She really wanted to be a ballerina and study dancing and was interested in the violin. She said it was not Childs play, but a lot of work and as it became more difficult she didn’t want to practice. She lived with her grandmother, who she loved very much and Assia was an obedient child so she listened to her violin teachers when they told her not to go on vacations and stay home and practice. Her teacher promised her parents that Assia would be in international competitions. At nine years old she entered a specialized charter school for music and then on to Technical Schools.
Assia is married to Igor Balenko and they have two sons who love music but have no interest in playing any instruments. Their interests are in sports and other activities and she won’t push them into anything because she remembers how difficult it was not to have a normal childhood and a lot of tears. She did add that she is very happy she was forced to play the violin and that everything turned out like this. An interesting fact that she added was that none of her violin teachers taught their children to play the violin. The violin is the most difficult instrument to play.

Liza is still beautiful and full of energy at 65 years and the audience loved her as she stepped on the stage of the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel for her two day event.

Liza sang her first song and the entire audience stood up and applauded her. She was so moved by it and she said her thought was, as she saw them standing, was “I better be good for them”. She was better than good, she was wonderful.

The band was special during Liza’s performance as they beautifully played her songs and she delivered with her heart felt famous voice. Liza loved the audience and they truly loved her.

Liza loves live performances and she continues to give concerts around the world.. She always comes back to Las Vegas where she is always welcomed with open arms. She is a beautiful lady that is loved by all ages and we are all happy that she continues to share herself with all of us.

Monique Jones placed 9th in Ms. Olympia. I had a chance to sit and talk with her on opening night at the Orleans arena, as the fans waited in long lines to talk to their idols. One such fan was Kyle Kroll, a Police Capt. in South Orange, N.J., who I might say had a terrific body, was mesmerized by Monique. She is from Greenville, S.C. and has been involved fitness since she was 16 years old.

The Big Brother Bash was held this year at the Rio All Suite Hotel Casino in Las Vegas and the house guests, past and present were there to party. As in the past, other Reality Stars from Survivor, MTV/VHI, The Challenges, Real World Vegas and The Amazing Race came to join in the fun and meet many of their fans. Niki and Arty Congero of “Live At the Studio” hosted the Big Brother Bash week end, as seen behind the scene in a beautiful 50th floor suite with a swimming pool, a fabulous view of the Las Vegas Strip and the Stickman Shadow Band.

Hundreds came out to party and the event was broadcast on a live stream that went out to thousands of fans who couldn’t attend. Paula Lorenz sat at her computer and chatted with everyone as the cast members and guests came on camera for interviews.

It was a night out at the Silverton Hotel Casino for the media to enjoy playing video poker and Blingo Bingo. Laura Herlovich of PR Plus invited the media to two nights of gambling, food, candy and drinks. I arrived early and had my pick of a video poker machine and I picked number 13 thinking that would be lucky, but number two was the lucky winning poker machine that night.

As I was leaving I saw the Paradise Fishing slot machine and I had to play it and guess what? I hooked a $100.00 fish so I did end up being a winner for the night. I walked out with $100.00.

The next week I went to the Blingo Bingo and it was a nice event.

I did not win but I sat at a table where everyone won two and three times. Carol and her husband won the big prize of $200.00, a cuple of $25.00 prizes and a diamond necklace. Now that is being real lucky. We were all happy for them.

The 32nd Annual San Gennaro Feast was held at the Rio All- Suite Hotel Casino by organizer Anthony Palmisano. Anthony started the Italian Festival in Miami in 1972 and has kept the Italian culture going with a taste of great food and entertainment. San Gennaro was the Bishop of Benevento, Italy and is the patron saint of Naples Italy.

For over 25 years, Tony Sacca has been a part of the San Gennaro Feast as the entertainment director and brings nightly to the stage, the best of the Las Vegas entertainers.

It was delightful to see the cast of “Nunsense” do a number on stage. The story is about the Nuns in a convent in Hoboken N.J. who are holding a fund raiser to get money to bury a few nuns who were accidently poisoned and died and were stored in the freezer in the basement of the convent. It is silly and funny and very entertaining and a joy to watch these talented ladies.

There were a variety of foods but the ones that stood out were the old time favorites of Sausage and Pepper stands and the Philly Cheese Steak stands. Lots of carnival games to win stuffed animals, a psychic to tell your fortune and a stand full of beautiful parrots. One parrot was on America’s Got Talent show this season and he really does speak clearly.

Anthony Palmisano flew in Chris Lista, who had performed with Tony Sacca over 38 years ago, to be a part of the entertainment for the festival for the entire week. It was a great reunion for Chris and Tony as they shared the stage to perform together.

Chris Gardner has studied Michael Jackson since he was six years old. He would watch him on T.V. and started dancing and imitating his moves. His father was a singer and his mother a dancer, both had musical backgrounds so all this came natural to Chris. All this practice paid off because when he entered a talent contest in High School and performed his Michael Jackson routine, the crowd went wild. He loved the spot light and he loved being the center of attraction.

I met up with Chris at Starbucks and was fascinated as he told me everything he knew about Michael Jackson. Apparently all these years of studying him paid off because he knew all the facts about his life. Chris met Michael years ago at the Aladdin Hotel at the music awards.

Chris has traveled all over the world performing as Michael and has just recently returned to Las Vegas after a year long tour in Japan. He does corporate shows, private shows and private parties. Chris does his own make up and it is perfect. I think that he is the best Michael Jackson Impersonator in the world. Chris has done parties for Paris Hilton and she considers him one of her personal friends.

We were special VIP guests of Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and were wined and dined and spent the night in the Aquarius Hotel and that included going to Kenny’s show. Kenny Rogers put his heart into all his songs and his band entertained the crowd as well. He stood to collect over $100.00. The man agreed and Kenny tossed money for the rest of the show and the man did believe in him.

On Aug. 30-Sept.3rd at the South Point Hotel and Casino Equestrian Event Center, Las Vegas, once again welcomed the Pure Spanish Championship Horse Show to the Equestrian Arena. The Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse invited the public to an all new production of The Horse of the Kings Theater which was spectacular. Mexican Heritage Night featured El Puma de Sinaloa Concierto y Baile with La Sonora de Colombia and the Banda Zacaterana who entertained the crowd with their music.

Rafael Madrigal was so entertaining, charming and talented in his singing and in his handling of the four horses he rode from the Ranch of Alfreda Zepeda. Too bad I didn’t understand what he was saying but I loved every minute of it. I was sitting at an arena table and he called me over and asked if I spoke Spanish and I said no and then Rafael handed me the microphone and I asked him if he wanted me to sing, but he only wanted me to hold the live microphone so he could mount his horse again. It was a funny moment that I wanted to share with you.

The Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, that stars in the Excaliber Hotel was also a part of the show with their incredible stallions and everyone loved them.

There were daily exhibitions, educational clinics, an Art Expo, a silent Auction and many vendors. One exceptional vendor had authentic dresses from Spain that were beautiful and eye catching.

Cameron English, Director and Chairman had a thought about doing a theatrical production and Gary Ware wrote and partnered up with Cameron to produce this great show. They received a standing ovation at the end of the show.

The Spanish Horse demonstrates the nobility and grace and performs anything he is asked to do. Their long, thick, flowing manes are breathtaking and beautiful and it is an instant love at first sight when you see them. It was an exciting three days of outstanding films at the Vegas Cine Fest at The Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from August 25-27, 2011. With all the stars that attended, one rising star stood out amongst everyone and her name is Claire Elizabeth. Claire starred in a dark comedy “Daddy’s Little Girl” as Pumpkin and she was fantastic. She won the Audience Choice Award for the film, which was well deserved. Daddy’s Little Girl was the second runner up for the Best 2010 short film. Claire is in post production for “The Chozen”, a story she thought of while riding in the car and then wrote and starred in it. At nine years old, Claire is looking ahead to a great future in acting, dancing, singing and filmmaking. We definitely will be seeing a lot of her in the future.

I asked Claire how old she was when she wanted to go into acting and she said at two years old she wanted to climb into the T.V. set. A clear sign of how we know what we want to do when we are toddlers. A special Filmmaking Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Director John Landis (Animal House, Blues Brothers). Landis directed the film “Burke and Hare” the first U.S. screening and it was the closing film of the night. It is a true story about two grave diggers William Burke and William Hare who supply Robert Knox (Tom Wilkinson) with bodies to dissect at Edinburgh Medical College. John spent a lot of time on stage answering questions and it was an enjoyable to experience his charm and wit and his knowledge. Everyone gave good reviews on the film.

There were a few heartwarming films and the first one was “More To Live For”. It is a story of three people with cancer who are in need of a bone marrow transplant. Seun Adebiyi, a young law student and an Olympic athlete, Michael Brecker, the greatest saxophonist of all time and James Chippendale founder of the Love Hope Strength Foundation. The film brings awareness of how simple it is to get tested to donate stem cells so you can save lives. Noah Hutton directed the film and he was joined on stage with James Chippendale to share their moments about the film.

“A Second Knock at the Door” was also a moving story of military families who have lost loved ones in friendly fire. It is a heartbreaking story of families having to cope with not knowing the truth behind their deaths and trying to get the military to tell them the true cause of their deaths. Eight time world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao was featured in a documentary showing the making of songwriter Dan Hill’s “Sometimes When We Touch”. The film showed the soft, human side of Manny and as he sang it touched my heart and I felt a connection to him, as if he were in one of my past lives. Not only is Manny a boxer, a singer, he is a humanitarian and is hailed as one of the Philippines modern day heroes and loved by the entire nation. “Some Guy Who Kills People” was the opening film of the film fest, starring Barry Bostwick, written and produced by Ryan Levin and directed by Jack Perez. It is a story of a man just recently released from a mental institution and having to deal with a dominating mother and a daughter who he is trying to establish a relationship with. Barry Bostwick plays the sheriff who is dating the mother who is played by Karen Black. It is a great cast of characters and a good story line.

“Neander-Jin-The Return of the Neanderthal Man”. It was an enjoyable film that had won awards prior to being shown at the film fest.
It is a story of the Neanderthal an who comes back to the present time and meets a 23 year old student and becomes involved with her and the fun begins. Rick Zieff is outstanding as the Neanderthal man. The film won the award for Best Feature Film at the festival.

The award for the Best 2010 Short Film went to “Quality Time” directed, produced and written by James Redford and starring Jason Patric and Lena Redford. A father tries to get his children off to school and encounters obstacles that may not follow the plans he had to get them to school on time. A Q & A followed and I was very excited to meet James Redford, the son of Robert Redford, who I have been in love with my entire life. I told James that I loved his father for years and he gave me a huge smile. As I sat next to James I couldn’t help but think of Robert Redford because James looked so much like him.

Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Frank Sinatra were back in town at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas and they wooed the crowds with their Rat Pack Show. Sandy Hackett is the writer and creator of the show and he co produced with his beautiful wife Lisa Dawn Miller. Lisa plays the one true love of Frank Sinatra and they sing a great duet together in the show, showing their love for each other.

The show starts with a video showing the Rat Pack in the old days of Las Vegas. It quickly gets you in the mood of how it was on the Las Vegas Strip. It was so good to see them in their shining moments of fame.

Sandy Hackett was hilarious and I couldn’t help but think of his father Buddy Hackett, who I adored and watched for so many years. Sandy rattled off one joke after another and it was funny and so entertaining.

We all had the opportunity to meet with Connie Stevens at a pre-show reception and spent a lot of time talking with Connie as she graciously posed for pictures and signed autographs. A special part of the show was when Connie Stevens showed a video of her days entertaining the troops that included the Vietnam War to the Persian Gulf War. As she viewed the video and sang a dedication song, I had a lump in my throat from pride that I am an American.

It was very special to me because my Granddaughter Michele Owens joined the Air Force and is in boot camp as I write this and I am so proud of her.

It was a thrill and a joy to go once again to see The Pointer Sisters live in concert at The Orleans. We were not the only ones who were excited, the entire audience showed their love for the ladies with their thunderous applause. It was hard to keep seated because of their high energy singing and dancing and everyone was up and out of their seats. You had to stand and clap as people were flocking down to the stage just to be close to them. It didn’t matter what age they were, young and old, they were down at the stage.

Ruth and Anita Pointer are so beautiful and their energy is like a 21 year old and I don’t know how they do it. Ruth Pointer shared with the audience that they have been doing this since the 1900’s, which got quite a laugh because they do not look or act their age.

They had a string of hits through the 1970’s and 1980’s. I’m so Excited, Jump (For My Love), Slow Hand and Fire are just a few of the songs that every loves hearing over and over again. Some times other artists perform their songs and they are honored by that.

The Pointer Sisters are stars who have won two Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Soul Train Hall of Fame and received a Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ruth’s granddaughter Sadako Johnson is the third Pointer of the group and she is absolutely stunning, talented and a delight to watch.

You could feel the love in the audience as the show ended and Anita, Ruth and Sadako shook hands with everyone that had come up to the stage. They truly appreciate their fans and their loves shines through to everyone too. The show could have been longer because people did not want to leave and wanted more and more.

After the show I went backstage with Linda Griner who is an old friend of the Pointer Sisters, going back to the days of Motown. They took the time to take pictures with everyone and catch up on old times.

As the evening ended we said goodbye and watched as Ruth, looking absolutely fabulous in her jeans and hat, said her good byes.

Touring is always on their calendar with visits to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They will be welcomed with open arms for they have well earned their place in Pop Music history and also won a place in our hearts. We love them and they made us feel like family being around them. I can feel the love, admiration and respect they have for each other. Sisterly love is the greatest love you can have and they have that with each other.

It is not often that I meet a man who makes an impression on me, but last week I met a gentleman that I was quite impressed with. He is Dan Horowitz who wrote a book called “The Pillow Treatment”, telling his life story about health, wealth, psychic encounters and how to please women sexually. It is a tell all book starting from his days in the 60’s as a swinger to his still full healthy active life style.

Dan has traveled all over the world with his sons Randy and Ronnie and on one fishing trip to Mexico he landed a huge fish. He caught it at 12:00 noon and finally brought it in 12 hours later and he proudly has it mounted in his great room.

Dan believes in reincarnation. He had heard about a doctor from UCLA medical school who had regressed people back in time. Dan went to see him and while under hypnosis he had memories, as a nine year old boy, of being in the town of Lindos, on the Isle of Rhodes in the 18th century. He saw his Greek mother was his sister Leona. He could actually smell the ocean and feel the sea breeze. When he finally did visit Lindos, everything matched perfectly as he had seen it in his regression. Dan believes that we reincarnate to become wise and to learn how to be happy and live life to the fullest. He also believes that women he has met in this lifetime have been in his life in the past.

A positive look on life and attitude is important to Dan as he wakes up every day and looks forward to the day that he knows will be a happy day for him. He wrote the book “The Pillow Treatment” because he has been happy his whole life and he wants to teach the world to be happy too. His day starts off with stretches, a shower and breakfast which include 30 vitamins and minerals. He exercises 2 hours a day and is in better health than men half his age.

His other form of exercise is in his beautiful pool in a backyard paradise that borders a golf course in the back of his property and a private putting green. He also takes the time to go out to lunch a few times a week with his friends.When he finally comes home he is greeted by his dog Buddy who is happy to see him home.

It took 18 months for Dan to write his book and it is filled with a lifetime of fun that paints a picture of his colorful life that includes his many business ventures that made him a millionaire. He enjoys the Rolls Royce and Jaguar that is parked in his garage and the spacious palatial home that he lives in.

A lot of toys are present in his great room, three TV sets, game and pinball machines and high up on the ceiling is a miniature train that rides on a tract through the rooms. Dan enjoys all the pleasures of life and he describes it all in his book which is a must read.

One of the many pictures that are hanging in his home show parts of his life such as the Laughing Jackalope that he owned on the strip. He made up a story about the Jackalope, that if you see it you will have luck the rest of your life. He goes into more detail about it in his book, so you will have to read the book to get the whole story.

Dan said he thinks women are now more outgoing about talking about sex than they were years ago and he would know from all the experiences he has had with many women. He is enjoying the people he is meeting and he is having a lot of fun and looking forward to all the new things he will be involved in, having written this book. Dan shared that he has a beautiful girlfriend named Gina who he describes as beautiful, sweet, loving and caring and she is the only woman in his life now. That is so nice to hear him say this about his girlfriend and especially that he no longer goes out with other women as she is the one for him.

As I said before, I really enjoyed meeting Dan and interviewing him. He is a gentle, loving soul who is the picture of happiness and love. Word of mouth is getting out that Kato Kaelin has a great comedy show at The Orleans in Big Al’s Comedy Club and the people are flocking to see him. It is a small and intimate show room and every seat is a perfect seat to see and hear Kato’s funny stories. Before the show started I spotted Kato and The Greg Wilson checking out the room and I was amazed to see that he hadn’t aged at all since I had seen him years ago. He was still the young, handsome man I had held in my memory of the past.

Kato told his stories with ease and charm and I could tell how much he loved his audience and they too loved him. Our eyes followed him all over the stage and couldn’t get enough of his energy and smiles. He started off by saying “No, I’m not Joey Buttafucco, I’m Kato Kaelin” and the room roared with laughter. He also said that people would stop him at the airport and thank him for building beautiful homes for people, and he said “No, I’m not Ty Pennington, I’m Kato Kaelin.”. Yes, the one and only Kato Kaelin, the famous House guest of OJ & Nicole Simpson. The young boy that I remembered watching at OJ’s trial and how I was mesmerized by his handsome face, his smiling eyes and his boyish Dennis the Menace look and most of all, hiding his shyness with a grin. I love remembering that but better than that was meeting Kato in person and looking into that treasured face.

“It is a hidden treat coming to Big Al’s Comedy Club” says Kato, who shares the stage with the hilarious, funny and outrageous fellow comics, The Greg Wilson and Jeff Richards. Their stories and jokes were so funny that I felt that my sides would split with the constant laughter. Kato welcomes everyone to the show and then introduces each act and ends the show, so we get plenty of Kato.

Kato handpicked Jeff Richards and The Greg Wilson because they are so talented and it makes his job easier working with them. He said he is honored to be with them. They blend well together and have a great connection. Jeff with his impersonations and sad sac look, The Greg Wilson with his wild crazy madhouse mouth and Kato is just being himself and is a natural on stage, performing with ease. A perfect trio that brings the house down with laughter in every performance and leaving the audience wanting more.

Jeff Richards, comedian and impressionist, performs at the World Famous Comedy Store and has appeared on Saturday Night Live and MADtv. At Big Als Comedy he came on stage with his shirt tucked in his pants which were pulled up past his waist and his small anatomy was outlined, which was very funny. Then he proceeded to point out his small bulge in his pants and that was the start of a very funny skit which you have to see in person. That was the start of his routine and it was non stop laughter the entire time he was on stage.

What can I say about The Greg Wilson that can describe how hysterically funny he is with his impressions and wild antics on the stage? He kind of reminded me of John Belushi who also was a wild comic. Half of the time I didn’t understand what Gregg was saying but just watching him on stage was funny enough to keep laughing.

Kato Kaelin has been busy over the years as a radio talk show host, some modeling for Playgirl and occasionally can be found at Hugh Hefner’s Mansion. I asked Kato what his future goals are and he said he would love to be a game show host. I can see Kato as a game show host and hopefully Hollywood will keep him in mind for some future shows.

The Las Vegas Film Festival held another successful event at the Hilton on July 15-17, 2011. People from all over the world came to view original film selections, documentaries, film shorts and foreign films. Panel discussions were featured each day with a screenwriter’s Panel, Producer’s Panel and the Filmmaker’s Panel. http://www.lvfilmfest.com/

A journey into the days of the mob was discussed by the legendary ex-mobster Henry Hill and wise guy Frank Cullotta, Meyer Lanksy 11 and Antonette Giancanna. There was an active discussion and question and answer period.

Opening night featured two films, “The Story” a ski documentary that takes a look at how people excel in the most extreme circumstances of life and how they push through to get to the other side of things. The next feature was a powerful film, “Oxy Moron”, winner of a Golden Ace Award. It is a true story of Johnny Hickey, who directed the film, and the drug addiction and violent crimes in his hometown, Charlestown, MA. It was his first time acting, producing and directing. The scenes are shocking and unbelievable for someone who has no concept of how it is to live in the drug addicted world. It is a sit on the edge of your seat film.

The winner of a Silver Ace Award went to “In the Woods”, directed by Vilma Zenelaj and her sister Greta Zenelaj, who won the best actress award for her role. This sister team founded Colored Films, an Albanian production company, and has won awards for two of their featured films so far. www.coloredfilms.net In the Woods was not shown at the festival but Greta & Vilma gave me a copy of the movie to view at home and I must say it was an excellent movie and Greta definitely deserved the best actress award she won for “In the Woods” in the New York International Independent Film Festival. They wrote the story and script about relationships. Sometimes you think you know a person, but you really don’t. I really loved the film and I am looking forward to more features from the Zenelaj sisters. Their parents are proud of them and are proud of their success and recognition. Part of their success is being together as sisters, because they can be brutally honest with each other. I was very impressed with their beauty, their kindness and the warmth that they showed whenever I saw them at the film festival. Greta and Vilma are working on projects for a TV series and I am looking forward to seeing their future shows.

Our very own local star entertainer, Rick Faugno starred in the film “Virgin Alexander”. It is a story of a virgin who is in love with a prostitute and who is losing the house his grandfather gave him, to a foreclosure. It was a joy to see Rick in this movie and the dance in the end was priceless. Ricks acting deserved an award and we loved his part in the film.

50K in 5 Days, an award winning short film is the story of a group of young professional poker players who each pooled together $50.00 to create a bank so they could play poker on the internet. Their goal was to make $50,000 in 5 days. Bryan W. Shay produced & directed the film and it was a big accomplishment to win an award his first time out. The young men all had a close relationship with each other and they had fun working and playing poker together.

They reached their goal in one week. Jason Lee said that most of the time he lost but luckily the others won everyday. After seeing the film I suggested that they make a reality show out of their poker playing. Congratulations Bryan Shay on a great film and we will be anxiously waiting to see your next film.

Get a Job is the story of Merton, a simpleton who is looking to get a job with the help of Willie K. In pursuing a career he is looking to getting back to his love of music.

Brian Kohne, writer and director won the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival award for Best Comedy, won the Audience Choice Hawaiian Feature Award at the Big Island Film Festival and winner of the Golden Ace Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival. There are over 100,000 Hawaiian residents here in Las Vegas and they are excited with the Get a Job film being shown here at the Film Festival.

Michael Madsen was presented with the “Indie Icon “Award for his film Vice which was shown prior to Michael receiving the award. It was a touching moment to see Michaels sons come on stage to present him with the award. He was totally surprised and he had tears in his eyes as they all hugged on stage. Michael said “I’ll never forget this as long as I live” It was a moment of family love and everyone present felt it.

Madsen’s good friend, Ash Adams presented a video tribute to Michael and then hosted the question and answers that followed.

The video showed some of the films that Michael appeared in, such as the classic Reservoir Dogs, Donnie Brasco, Kill Bill and Sin City, to name a few of the 170 that he made. Ash Adams film “Once Fallen” won the Best Feature Award last year at the LV Film Fest. His entry this year is a short “Peter’s Hope”.

After the Q &A I took Michael upstairs for a private interview and asked more questions about the film. He said he read the first five pages of Vice and understood it but hated the ending, but knew that something was there. He said he would do it but wanted to rewrite the ending and they agreed to it. He also said he wanted Darryl Hannah to play the part of the vice cop and to have black hair so she would be more believable. I didn’t realize it was Daryl until I saw her name on the credits at the end.

The Artisan Hotel once again hosted a pool party for everyone and it was a chance to party and meet many producers, directors, screen writers and of course all the wonderful actors.

Absinthe is one of the funniest shows on the strip and it is getting rave reviews from everyone. It is at Caesars Palace in the Roman Plaza in back of Serendipity3 and with beer gardens that are decorated with old time themes and décor. Off to the side is a green door entrance for VIP’s who can enter and relax in hammocks, plush lounge chairs. It is decorated with hanging crystal chandeliers and private sitting areas.

A plus is that the VIP’s enter the tent first and they get front row seats. At first it looks like a great deal but once the show starts the acts are practically on top of the first row patrons. It immediately seems very dangerous when the skating duo get on the small round stage and start spinning around that one feels like they are going to fly into the audience. It is very thrilling not knowing whether to duck or stay seated and definitely do not stand up. Luckily I was in the second row but I still had concerns. It was amazing how they performed such skill and speed on a small round stage in the center of the tent.

The star of the show is The Gazillionaire who is like a crazy, mad Wild Hatter who captures the audience as soon as he appears on stage. His assistant Penny is so outrageous and absolutely funny and my sides were splitting with laughter as she did her sock puppet routine, which is for an adult only audience. I am still laughing as I write this and think of her sock puppets. It is worth going back just to see Penny perform this again.

Many other strange and funny men were hanging around on side swings, and the tight rope walk was a hold your breath moment until the men were safe on their stands. It was thrilling to watch their perfect balance and skills on the rope.

Spiegelworld has given us this opportunity to enter their playground and become a child again in the wonderful world of a carnival circus that is put together brilliantly. The comedy is outrageous and for 90 minutes you will forget all your worries as you sit in this tent and watch in amazement how they all perform on such a small round center stage. I guarantee that you will still be smiling and laughing after leaving the show.

A Tea Infusion Challenge was held to find the best infusionist and it is all about the method used to steep the tea, technical skills and tea knowledge.

Tea tastings were held everyday in the North American Tea Championship Winners Tasting Circle on the exhibit hall floor. Also on display were pastries and tea biscuits’ to go along with the many samples of teas. Food demonstrations were held throughout the day.

A Russian teapot was on display and caught the eyes of many attendees as to its beauty and its function.

The seminar I looked forward to attending was on comparing the $20.00 a pound tea to the $200.00 a pound tea. It was an interesting morning as we tasted 9 different teas and gave each one a rating. Would you believe that I rated the $65.00 a pound tea higher than the $200.00 a pound tea.

I usually look for one new product in the Tea Expo and this year I found an outstanding, clever one. It is “The Finger Fork” by The Artful Penguin, LLC. The Finger Fork was created and designed by owner, artisan Sheryl Konnerth.
